Biography
Michael W. Seymour is the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at Mississippi State University, where he leads initiatives to enhance instructional quality and faculty development. He has spearheaded innovative programs, including a gamified professional development course and a comprehensive new faculty teaching academy. The Center's signature program is the Maroon Academy for Teaching Excellence, a 20-week, 4-course certificate program in university instruction designed to integrate evidence-based teaching practices and foster a collaborative learning environment for faculty. As a licensed landscape architect and professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design, he continues to teach and contribute to academic scholarship, underscoring his commitment to educational excellence and student success.
