FLS 3142: Hispanic Civilization

This course covers the origins, civilization and culture of the Hispanic world up to the present day. For practical reasons, this course has a focus on Spain's history, civilization, and culture through the interconnectivity with other major civilizations (Roman, Arab, American) up to the present day, whose traces can still be seen on Spanish art, architecture, and language. However, the course will also cover major historical events and periods in Latin America that have substantially transformed its culture, thus establishing frequent transatlantic connections.
